- Search everywhere you can for scholarships and grants. http://www.studentaid.ed.gov is a great place to start.
- Contact the admissions offices of the schools you’re considering. Get all your admissions information and school applications.
- Learn about the financial aid process and find out more about specific federal loan programs.
-Get financial aid information from each of the schools you’re considering – and be sure to ask about deadlines for applying for aid.
- Start the financial aid process by getting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form will be used to determine the amount of your financial aid eligibility. You can get one for free from your high school’s guidance office, your college’s financial aid office, the public library and online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. Also, obtain financial aid forms from the college financial aid office. Complete the FAFSA as soon as you can.
- File your FAFSA, or the needs analysis form your school requires to determine if you’re eligible for financial aid. If you’d like, you can file and submit your FAFSA electronically.
After you file your FAFSA, you should get a Student Aid Report (SAR) in the mail. Make sure the information in the report is correct, sign it, and return it to the school or schools you’re considering. You should receive a package from each school detailing the types of aid you may have qualified for.
- Once you’ve selected your school and you’ve determined that you need a federal education loan, you need to follow the application steps for completing a master promissory note for a Stafford Loan and/or a PLUS Loan.
- If you can’t get all of your tuition and expenses funded through grants, scholarships, and federal loans, look into private education loan options. Private loans can help bridge the gap — and you can even borrow money to cover books, school fees, transportation, and supplies.
A website that offers competitive private student loans is http://www.collegeloancampus.com/apply.php
Good luck!
If you haven’t applied for federal financial aid that’s where you need to start. The application is available on line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov (not http://www.fafsa.com…that site charges you where the ed.gov site is free). This application will allow you to be considered for grants and low-interest loans.
You can try to go to

it’s about scholarships/grants information.
